Company Description

Equator Gold is a mineral exploration and development company based in the UK. In partnership with Namekara Mining Company Ltd, which owns and operates a high-quality vermiculite mine in southeastern Uganda, Equator is developing a suite of soil remineralisers for agriculture and horticulture.

Role Description

The successful candidate will lead the development of a crop-specific soil remineraliser portfolio, forge and coordinate academic research partnerships and establish commercially viable production‐to-market, as well as driving potential carbon credits through Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW).

The ideal Project Manager will combine technical expertise with leadership skills and cross-cultural agility. They will probably hold a master’s or PhD in Soil Science, Agronomy, Geochemistry, Environmental Science or a closely related discipline, or be able to demonstrable equivalent experience.

We are looking for a track record of leading multidisciplinary projects in soil health, fertiliser development, or related agronomic R&D, including agronomic trial management. Experience developing business plans and engaging with stakeholders across industry, academia, and government is essential and some exposure to and understanding of ERW processes and carbon-credit frameworks is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Project Management, budgeting, buisness development and risk management skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with good communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrable relevant experience and/or PhD or Master's s degree in agronomics, soil science, geochemistry, Business Administration, or related field.
