JOB DETAILS:
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Project planning and Implementation
• Identify and supervise beneficiaries for support in environment and energy interventions
• Work with local artisan groups and RWCs/LCs and block leaders to select beneficiaries for support in clean energy technologies.

 

 

• Conduct community mobilization campaigns to increase uptake of briquettes and other alternative energy technologies.
• Mobilize and create community awareness sessions to dispense the benefits, costs, and utilization of briquettes.

 

 

• Support marketing initiatives of local entrepreneurship with necessary skills in marketing briquettes.

 

 

• Participate in the production and documentation of best practices for the organisation.
• Supervise and support incentive works, and nursery operators for the effective implementation of field activities.
• Ensure that all project activities are implemented and achieved based on and according to the plan and within the agreed project period.

Reporting and documentation
• Lead documentation of project progress including weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports, lessons learnt and interest stories.
• Regularly and timely communicate to the supervisor on project progress, highlighting successes, delays, risks, challenges, irregulates and opportunities encountered during work.

 

 

• Ensure that all the stakeholders (OPM, RWCs, UNHCR and block leaders) in their location are aware, and where possible participate in the project activities.
• Coordinate and respond to cases and community awareness.

 

 

• Actively participate and represent the organisation at the field coordination meetings.

Financial management / Budget Monitoring & Control
• In liaison with the Sub Program manager develop accurate annual budget, budget revision for the project according to the standards of the donors.
• Participate in the development of accurate annual budgets and budget revisions for the project/programme according to standards of the donor;

• Keep track of all project/programme budget and ensure that project/programme activities are within assigned budgets.
• In liaison with the Project Accountant and SPM develop budget tracking tools and monitoring
• Ensure the financial implications of plans are fully considered and reflected in the annual budget
• In liaison with the SPM, review financial reports track expenditures and provide feedback to the Project Accountant
• Ensure 100% implementation of the planned project activities on a monthly basis and that budgets are not under and over spent.

Coordination and collaboration
• Coordinate and collaborate with the environment working groups, and local environmental authorities and community members on all assessments. Share assessment findings with the livelihoods/ environment working groups, and community members.
• Collaborate and coordinate closely with all other members of the emergency response team and link development with emergency response activities Other
• Performing any other official duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Sub Program Manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Environment science, natural resources Forestry or degree in related field.
• Knowledge of project monitoring and evaluation is an added advantage.
• At least 2 years’ experience in environment, energy interventions in humanitarian or development context.
• Experience in market-based approaches in energy and environment programming, proven knowledge, and experience in developing and implementing community mobilization projects.

• Good interpersonal and excellent negotiation skills
• Excellent English language
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
