ABOUT US

This is an international humanitarian and development Non-Governmental Organization in General Consultative status with the (UN COESOC) United Nations Economic and Social Council, and one of the largest in South Korea. Established in 1991, the organization currently conducts missions around the world to improve quality of life and education standards, as well as to provide aid in areas of civil unrest or natural disaster. In order to develop and achieve the NGO objectives, Good Neighbors International Uganda is seeking to recruit the following employee:

Project Name: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Improvement Project for the Girls in Jinja District

Position: Project Assistant

Location: Jinja Field Office

Contract period: 1 year (Renewable based on the evaluation)

Job Summary

The project assistant will provide administrative and logistical support for projects, initiatives, and programs within the Good Neighbors Uganda environment.

Specifically, the project assistant will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the ongoing project by working collaboratively with the project officer under the supervision of the project coordinator to achieve the planned outcomes and maximize productivity
  • Collaborate with the whole project team, contributing to the entire project lifecycle
  • Support all phases of project implementation: identification of needs, proposing actions, and technical and financial monitoring.
  • Provide support to the management of projects’ activities and expenses
  • Organize and monitor schedules and see that deadlines are met
  • Report updates verbally and in written form to management
  • Complete any necessary office administrative tasks
  • Carry out any other tasks related to the project or the office that may be assigned by your supervisor
  • Demonstrate commitment to Good Neighbors Field office’s needs and confidentiality continuously.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • University degree in the field of International Development Cooperation, International Relations, Social Science, Public Health, Community Development or in another related area.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of full-time paid professional experience in the relevant sector including education, health, and gender.
  • Previous work experience in development work, preferably with international development partners, government, and non-government agencies.
  • Previous experience of working with children or in a school setting environment.
  • Having experience in field operations is desired.
  • Previous experience that involved SRHR-related tasks in a development organization is the most preferable.

Language

  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
