JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
To lead all aspects of project management, compliance, quality assurance, and the delivery of project results. This role involves providing strategic, managerial, and technical leadership while maintaining close collaboration with consortium partners and ensuring high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Project Management:
• Lead the project team and partners through the entire project cycle.
• Develop and implement innovative tools and approaches for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) advocacy.

 

 

• Ensure compliance with donor-approved implementation plans and budgets.

 

 

• Monitor quality standards, deadlines, and operational changes.
• Adapt strategies to meet changing donor requirements, policies, and organizational priorities.
Collaboration and Networking:
• Build collaborative networks with consortium partners, donors, and stakeholders.
• Foster shared understanding of project objectives and align with VSO’s values and policies.
• Ensure consortium partners are equipped with necessary resources, information, and skills for effective project delivery.
Team Development and Supervision:
• Mobilize and motivate the project team, ensuring the capacity and tools required for success.
• Lead and manage a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.
• Support safer recruitment practices and talent development.
Risk and Compliance:
• Develop robust risk mitigation strategies and manage the project risk register.
• Ensure compliance with grant agreements and contracts.
Communication and Advocacy:
• Develop impactful communication outputs for various audiences.
• Represent the project with external stakeholders, including donors, governments, and implementing partners.
Innovation and Learning:
• Identify and pilot new tools and approaches to enhance project relevance.
• Capture and share experiences and knowledge within the organization for continuous learning.
Financial Oversight:
• Manage project finances, including budget compliance and donor reporting.
• Demonstrate value for money through measurable changes in beneficiaries’ lives.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Knowledge and Qualifications:
• Expertise in intersectionality, social inclusion, gender, social accountability, or meaningful youth engagement.
• Project management or international development qualifications or equivalent experience.
Experience:
• Significant experience managing large and complex grants/contracts in the international development sector.
• Expertise in donor and consortium partner management.
• Experience in project security, risk management, and duty of care.
Skills and Abilities:
• Proven leadership of diverse, distributed teams.
• Strong financial, budget, and risk management skills.
• Cross-cultural communication skills with fluency in English (written and spoken).
• IT literacy, including Microsoft Office, project management software, and Salesforce.
• Ability to travel across project sites.
