Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences; or Social Work and Social Administration; or Development Studies; or Public Administration and Management; or Business Administration (Management option); or Arts; or Law; or Community Based Rehabilitation plus a Masters Degree in Development Studies; or Public Administration and Management; or Management; or Business Administration (Management option); or Community Based Rehabilitation; or Arts or Law; or Disability Studies and Human Rights from a recognized University / Institution. Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Protection; or Social Development; or Social Justice will be an added advantage.

Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years relevant working experience in Programme Management, three (3) of which should have been served at Senior Officer level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Secretary for performing the following duties:-
1. Coordinating development and establishment of guidelines for research, planning and data management of the Secretariat so as to guide collaborating organizations in relation to Persons with Disability;

 

 

2. Providing technical support and guidance to the Districts and lower Local Government Councils in the management of programmes and activities of Persons with Disability;
3. Developing advocacy mechanisms to support initiatives and activities for Persons with Disability;

 

 

4. Designing and implementing Special Interest Groups and Administration programs;
5. Providing support in the review of policies and guidelines for implementation of programmes for Persons With Disability;

 

 

6. Developing practices, programmes and activities for the protection and participation of Persons with Disability within the overall economic development strategies;

 

 

7. Writing funding proposals and organizing fundraising programmes and drives to support the elderly;
8. Networking with stakeholders for the achievement of development objectives of Persons With Disability;
9. Managing performance of staff in the Division;
10. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
