Position Details:
• Location: Fort Portal, Uganda
• Job Level: Manager
• Reports To: Country Director, Uganda
• Direct Report: Project Assistant
• Contract Duration: 13 months (December 2024 – December 2025), with potential for extension
• Requirement: Must be based in Fort Portal and fluent in Rutooro.

Role Responsibilities:
• Program Management:
o Oversee implementation and management of Project Kunihira.
o Ensure timely completion of outcomes and deliverables within budget and donor regulations.

 

 

o Build strong relationships with local NGO partners and internal SBS teams.
• Donor Relations and Reporting:
o Serve as a liaison and strategy driver with donors and key partners.

o Provide clear, insightful donor communications and reports.
• Budgeting and Compliance:
o Manage a project budget of over $200,000.
o Ensure all expenses comply with donor and SBS policies.
• Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL):
o Work closely with MEL teams to track data, gather lessons learned, and implement program improvements.
o Identify risks and communicate/escalate as needed.
• Communications:
o Contribute to developing newsletters and outreach materials.

Qualifications:
Must-Haves:
• 5+ years of field project execution experience (2+ years as a project manager)
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., RACI, stakeholder maps, risk registers)
• Experience managing >$200,000 budgets
• Experience working with multiple NGO partners
• Fluency in Rutooro

Desirable:
• Workshop facilitation experience with external stakeholders
• Knowledge of the Fort Portal area and community
