Contract Duration: 13 months (December 2024 – December 2025); potential for extension

What you will do for us:
As the Program Manager for Project Kunihira, you will be responsible for the high impact, high efficiency implementation of an innovative program that will transform women’s incomes through entrepreneurship in the Fort Portal region.

You will build a keen understanding of the SBS entrepreneurship curriculum and combine it with your robust experience in implementing complex field projects to ensure that every milestone is hit on time. You will work with local NGO partners as well as the SBS team to plan, execute, review and report on the project activities. You will build clear and insightful communications for the donor.

Your responsibilities:
• Delivering overall implementation and management of the program, from inception to close-out
• Ensuring that program outcomes and deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in

compliance with donor and Street Business School requirements
• Providing oversight of the program and working collaboratively with internal stakeholders as well

as other NGOs, with an unwavering commitment to delivering results through partnership
• Serving as a liaison and driving shared vision and strategy among the donor and other key
partners
• Maintaining strong relationships with the donor, under the guidance of the Country Director and
COO, providing strategic influencing to ensure collaboration with other NGOs

 

 

• Ensuring that all budgets and expenses are carried out according to both donor and SBS’s policies
and regulations.
• Working closely with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) to ensure timely and accurate
data and lessons learned are collected; translating insights into program improvements as agreed
with the Country Director and Head of MEL.
• Track progress with key deliverables across the program and identifying any that are at risk and
need attention and communicate/ escalate as needed
• Review and support development of bimonthly newsletter (as desired) and other central outreach
material

Must haves:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in executing field projects, with at least 2 years as project manager
• Full understanding and experience in using project management tools like RACI, stakeholder
maps, risk registers, etc.
• Experience working with multiple NGO partners to deliver complex workstreams
• Experience of managing a project budget of >$200,000 (US)
• Fluent in Rutooro

Desirable
• Experience in facilitating workshops with multiple external stakeholders
• Good knowledge of the Fort Portal area and the community

This position is a one-year contract from January to December 2025 which may be extended based on funding for the project.
