JOB SUMMARY
The Program Lead will oversee the operational implementation of the Mastercard Foundation Associate Program across Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe. This role involves managing a team that facilitates employability initiatives, placements and career training for young graduates. The Program Lead will ensure the program's alignment with the broader goals of promoting workforce equity and youth employment in alignment with the Mastercard Foundation's strategic objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Program Leadership and Strategy:
- Oversee the program’s daily operations in the designated countries.
- Ensure the program's objectives are met through meticulous planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Coordinate with regional and country teams to align program strategies with overall program goals.
- Team Management:
- Lead and manage the program team across the three countries, ensuring high performance and effective program delivery.
- Facilitate training, development, and succession planning for team members to ensure program sustainability.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local governments, NGOs, educational institutions, and industry partners.
- Represent the program in public forums and contribute to discussions on youth employment and workforce development.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Implement monitoring and evaluation strategies to assess program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
- Report regularly to the project manager and funders on program progress against goals and objectives.
- Financial Oversight:
Manage the program budget, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and expenditures controlled within approved limits.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all organisational and donor policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify risks associated with program implementation and develop mitigation strategies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- At least 2 years of program or project management experience, preferably in workforce development or educational programs.
- Proven experience in managing multinational and multidisciplinary teams.
