We provide these young leaders with the tools to remain connected after their fellowship year finishes, deepening their ability to enact change through heightened skills and strong partnerships. We currently place fellows in Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, the United States, and Zambia.

 

The Internship: Global Health Corps seeks an intern to support the work of our community Impact team. We are looking for a creative problem solver with an excellent orientation to detail, project management experience, and strong organization skills. The intern will work closely with GHC staff to assist with a range of projects supporting our post-fellowship alumni programming. The intern will provide cross-team support to ensure that our programs are implemented efficiently. The intern will learn about GHC programs and operations through participation in regular team and staff meetings. The role of the Program Impact intern will be mainly centered on Alumni program support, assisting with program implementation, documentation of knowledge management, and lessons learned.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of program materials, training modules, workshops, webinars, and speaker series in collaboration with the Community Impact Team and Country Teams and research best practices and tools for communication and information-sharing platforms for our alumni community
  • Support the implementation of GHC’s digital engagement strategy by implementing our content calendar, and support the transition to a new digital engagement platform
  • Support the development and implementation of a strategy for conducting a mapping of the GHC alumni community including their experiences, skills, needs, participation, and networks to drive programming and engagement.
  • Coordinate with the Country Teams and support the development and implementation of professional development opportunities aligned with their National Strategy for Community Impact and support alumni engagement, community building, and collaboration to ensure strong participation in and positive experiences from events and programs
  • Support in designing and implementing a knowledge management system for our evolving internal alumni team by ensuring that all master documents for alumni programs are up to date, maintaining and updating the engagement tracker to ensure that all alumni participation is documented

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver high-quality products
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral); particularly experience in distilling and communicating processes or systems for learning
  • Experience in leading meetings, groups, volunteer committees, team projects, etc., particularly in developing agendas and session content and/or executing events
  • Interest in global health, leadership development, and health workforce development
  • Ability to use Google apps such as Google Drive, Google forms, Google sheets
  • Systems thinker; experience connecting work or efforts from different teams, group projects, units, school programs, or departments for a collective product
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally as part of a team and the ability to embrace Global Health Corps values.
  • Graphic design skills such as Canva is a plus but not required
