Experience and Other requirements:
• 6 years’ experience with at least two (2) years at Senior Officer level.
• Member of the Uganda Statistical Society is a MUST.

• Analytical, Interpersonal skills, Report writing, Communication skills.

• Must be knowledgeable in the use of computer applications
• Proven leadership skills
• Objectivity and independence
• Possess the ability to work as a team.

Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Statistics and Economics, Public Administration or any relevant field.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Economics and Statistics, Project Planning and Management or any relevant field will be an added advantage.

• An Honors’ Degree in Statistics, Business Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Population Studies, Bsc Statistics and Economics/ Mathematics or relevant field.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the development and update of the long-term Economic censuses and surveys programme.
2. Plan and co-ordinate Economic censuses and surveys with subject matter specialists.

3. Develop codes and editing rules and guidelines for sample survey data.

4. Liaise with user departments to finalize survey questionnaires and upload them onto the application
5. Coordinate the testing of survey tools.
6. Approve data sets for data analysis.
7. Review the first line technical reports for economic census and surveys

8. Coordinate the preparation of the Basic Information booklets for all economic censuses and surveys.
9. Implement the advocacy and publicity plan for all Economic Censuses and Surveys.
10. Implement the monitoring and evaluation for all project plans for the censuses and surveys undertaken by the department.
11. Prepare and produce reports of survey/census planning processes.
12. Participate and support field data collection activities and supervision
13. Supervise, develop staff in the department, conduct performance appraisals and identify training and development needs
14. Prepare and submit timely accountability for resources
15. Perform any other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
