JOB DETAILS:
Background Information:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner Records and Information Management for performing the following duties:-
- Conducting inspections and advising Ministries, Departments, Agencies and Local Governments on record and information management issues;
- Providing protection and preservation solutions;
- Implementing regulations, standards, systems and procedures for records management;
- Creating and coordinating implementation of Records Retention and Disposal Schedules;
- Providing electronic document and records management services;
- Carrying out research in records management;
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Records and Archives Management; or Library and Information Science plus a Masters Degree in Records and Archives Management; or Library and Information Science obtained from a recognized University/Institution.
Experience:
- Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at the level of Senior Records Officer in Government.

- b)Scan and submit on-line Bachelor’s Degree and Post Graduate Transcripts and Certificates, Professional Documents, Copies of letters of Appointment, Confirmation and Promotion); relevant documents (‘O’ and A’ Level Certificates.
- c)Each attachment must not exceed a limit of 1MB and only portable documents format (PDF) is allowed.
- d)Print an Extract of PS Form 3 (2008) and obtain recommendation from the Responsible Officer. Scan the recommendation together with the rest of the documents and submit online.
- e)Those who fail to get a recommendation should proceed and submit and also indicate a reason on their application as to why they were not recommended.
