Reports to: Senior Planning Officer/Economist

 

About US:

Law Development Centre (LDC) will provide legal education to lawyers and non-lawyers, undertake research in topical legal issues, contribute to legal reforms, produce legal publications, teaching materials and law reports, and also provide community legal services.

 

Job Summary:  The Planning Officer/Economist will provide support in the development of LDC Plans and budgets and preparation of relevant reports.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To participate in the formulation, development and coordination of LDC development strategies and plans.
  • To assist in the preparation and dissemination of performance standards and indicators for LDC staff.
  • To develop proposals for the strategic plan.
  • To participate in the implementation and monitoring of the strategic plan and annual work plans.
  • To assist in the preparation of the budget frame work paper, Ministerial policy statements and annual budget estimates.
  • Prepare relevant performance reports for the attention of Senior Planning Officer/Economist
  • To assist staff in preparation of work plans and budgets.
  • To assist in the development of proposals for funding.
  • To perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Planning Officer/Economist.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s (Hon) degree in Economics, Statistics or Quantitative Economics.
  • Post graduate qualification in Planning and Management.
  • At least two (2) years’ work experience in planning in a large public or reputable private organization.
  • He/she should be a good planner.
  • Possesses strong relationship management skills.
  • Should be creative and innovative.
  • Ability to embrace change management.
  • He/she should be a person of high integrity.
  • Results Oriented.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal relations skills.
  • He/she should be a team player.
  • Should be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word documents, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet applications.
