Objective of the position

The Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Officer (PME&L Officer) is responsible for the coordination of the planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning systems for projects and programmes in Uganda. To ensure the quality of the PMEL of the projects and programmes, the Officer will assist in the implementation of policies and systems. He/she will also be a resource person to the country team and partners for project/programme planning, reporting and analysis.

This is a full-time position, based in Kampala, with frequent travel to the field. Initial contract period will be for one year, with a possibility of extension.

The ideal candidate

  • Must be a graduate of statistics, social sciences or other relevant social science degree.
  • A relevant post graduate degree is mandatory.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in programme planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning.
  • Proven experience in capacity building of civil society organisations for programme planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning.
  • Knowledge of and experience in project cycle management, including the use of logical framework, theory of change and other planning tools.
  • Experience with Child Rights based programming is an advantage.
  • Experience with Lobby & Advocacy.
