  • Diploma in clinical medicine
  • Diploma in nursing
  • One year of working experience in a busy retail pharmacy setting

Terms and conditions:

Type of Employment

(1) Year renewable contract.

The first one (1) month of the contract, is probation. If the person’s performance is found to be satisfactory, a letter of confirmation is awarded. Termination conditions as stated under the ‘termination’ clause herein will hold.

The employee reports to the manager Akugoba Pharmacy

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • To run the pharmacy prescriptions unit by receiving, evaluating, advising, and costing prescriptions and or customer orders
  • To run the dispensing operations by packing, labeling, and providing proper drug use information to patients
  • To implement the pharmacy patient feedback mechanism
  • To maintain clean conditions in the pharmacy by dusting and cleaning drugs and shelves
  • Keeping pharmacy books of records particularly the prescriptions book
  • To assist in the pharmacy inventory management by recording purchases and maintaining the purchase book records up to date.
  • Any other responsibility that may be assigned to you from time to time

Working hours:

The Pharmacy is open Monday to Sunday. Work is done in shifts: the first starts at 8.00 am to 2:30 p.m and the second shift starts at2.30pm to 8 pm and 8:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m on weekends. (The current shifts are adjusted to observe COVID-19 regulations and changes are anticipated)

Remuneration:

Basic pay of 600,000 UGX. In addition, one may be facilitated during work as the company may deem fit to do so.

Days off:

Staff is entitled to be off duty on Saturday or Sunday.

Public Holidays

Staff is required to work during public holidays. However, in the event that you are requested to work and you accept, you’re paid at the same rate as that of normal remuneration.

Misconduct/Breach of trust:

Misuse firm’s utilities (e.g. private usage of phones, computers, and stationery, fraudulent activities, selling company property) or divergence of confidential information, the dismissal shall be summary and terminal benefits do not apply.

While in employment, you are not allowed to carry out any private work especially anything to do with business/customers/clients of Akugoba Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

You’re also held responsible for any careless handling or intentional damage of products and/or tools allocated, and the cost of damage of products and/or tools is deducted from the salary.

Unauthorized Absence:

If you are absent for more than (3) three days without prior authorized arrangement or notification e.g. a doctor’s certificate, it will be assumed that you have terminated your contract.

Termination Notice:

Either party can give a minimum notice for termination/resignation as follows:-

Seven(7) calendar days during probation

Thirty (30) calendar days after written confirmation.
