JOB DETAILS:

Job Purpose:

To support the Pharmacist in the efficient dispensing of medicines, inventory management, and providing frontline support to patients and clinical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the hospital pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions accurately under supervision.
• Receive, store, and manage pharmaceutical stock, including monitoring expiry dates.
• Maintain proper storage conditions for drugs as per guidelines.
• Issue medicines to inpatient wards and outpatient clients.
• Prepare simple formulations and maintain cleanliness in the dispensing area.
• Handle basic billing and cashiering functions at the pharmacy.
• Provide excellent customer service, directing queries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
• Assist in maintaining pharmacy records and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
• Registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda as a Pharmacy Technician/Assistant is required.
• At least 1-2 years of experience working in a retail or hospital pharmacy.
• Strong numerical and organizational skills.
