JOB DETAILS:
Role Summary
The People and Culture (P&C) Business Partner enhances P&C operational effectiveness in Country Offices (COs), facilitates organizational development, and ensures best practices. The role promotes diversity, equity, psychological, and physical safety, requiring international travel (up to 6 times/year, including high-risk areas) and extended screen time.
Responsibilities
Operational Delivery (30%):
- Advise on global and local P&C policies, collaborating with local P&C Specialists on employment law.
- Support local policy reviews to reflect local needs and culture.
- Mitigate people-related risks in COs with CPCO, P&C Directors, and other specialists.
Quality Assurance (20%):
- Conduct assessments and P&C audits to enhance employee experience and ensure consistency.
- Support Country Directors (CDs) in compliance and risk management per country risk registers.
- Analyze P&C data, identify trends, and propose improvements.
Employee Relations and Services (30%):
- Monitor whistleblowing lines and address complaints in COs.
- Oversee employee relations, ensuring adherence to disciplinary procedures and maintaining confidential records.
- Conduct investigations, liaise with legal firms, and propose actions based on surveys and exit interviews.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) (10%):
- Embed DEIA in policies/processes to support diverse staff.
- Collaborate with the Global DEIA Committee to set goals, manage trainings, and analyze DEIA data.
Safety and Safeguarding (10%):
- Support adherence to safety, security, and safeguarding policies from a P&C perspective.
Requirements
Expertise:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Behavior, or related field.
- Experience at HQ/regional level in an international development organization across low, medium, and high-income countries.
- Knowledge of local laws and donor requirements in multiple countries.
- Experience delivering HR services via a business partner model.
- Expertise in advising on employee relations and best people management practices.
