About US:

Yalelo (U) Limited is a tilapia fish farm that was established in Uganda in 2019. The farm is located in Butembe, Buikwe district on the shores of Lake Victoria. Yalelo Uganda is a subsidiary of First Wave Group B.V; a Dutch company with a portfolio of aquaculture related assets in Africa. First Wave Group owns and operates Yalelo Zambia, a pioneer of Aquaculture founded in 2011 that has grown quickly to become the leading fish farm in Zambia and among the largest aquaculture farms in Africa.

 

Job Summary:   The Outlet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the outlet, implementing sales strategies to enhance and meet sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals, and managing outlet staff effectively.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meets sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to outlet staff.
  • Processes customer orders and payments using the outlet’s Point of Sale (POS) system. Handles cash register functions and transactions including sales, correct pricing, and receipting to customers.
  • Drives customer service excellence in every aspect of the outlet, including store appearance, display of merchandise, product placement, outlet layout, and selling procedures.
  • Delivers an excellent customer experience at all times, ensuring customer needs are met and exceeded.
  • Enforces the use of proper icing techniques throughout the process to maintain the freshness of the fish.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of fish products, including new lines and offers, and shares that knowledge with customers and other colleagues in a confident manner.
  • Responsible for all banking functions related to the outlet including making bank deposits, and accountability.
  • Supervises and motivates the outlet team to meet sales objectives by training and mentoring staff.
  • Contributes business strategies to attract new customers, expand outlet traffic, and enhance profitability.
  • Ensures compliance with the quality, housekeeping, and food safety management systems.
  • Performs administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of all outlet operations, including the timely submission of all personnel paperwork, and preparing and submitting daily reports.
  • Performs quality assurance of fish on a regular basis and ensures proper handling, storage, processing, and packing.
  • Ensures customer complaints are followed up and that satisfactory solutions are obtained for both the customer and Yalelo.
  • Builds sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication with customers.
  • Bears responsibility for the safekeeping of company assets at the outlet.
  • Ensures inventory levels are maintained and places new orders in a timely manner, in liaison with the Supervisor.
  • Ensures that the highest standards of health and safety are considered as a priority throughout all operations in the outlet.
  • Ensures the outlet meets compliance standards with statutory regulations and government policies by liaising with key technical concerned persons.
  • Conducts regular inspection of premises and equipment like fridges, POS, and Generators to ensure safety and functionality.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Diploma in Business Administration or related discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a retail/bulk trade environment.
  • Strong leadership and customer management abilities.
  • A resident of Fortportal, Kyegegwa, Bundibugyo and surrounding areas is preferred.
  • Customer service-oriented with in-depth knowledge of basic business management processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy and competence in MS Office.
  • Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
  • Must be willing and able to meet tight deadlines and work long hours when required.
  • Be able to work in a multicultural environment.
