Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Reports and works under general supervision and general guidance of White Nile Consults Limited (WNC) Project Manager and upper management, ensuring that policies, procedures as well as local and national regulations, policies, and laws are followed.
• Supervises fieldwork of all WNC facility operational staff
• Works as part of WNC team, coordinates and maintains close working relationships with WNC Facility Maintenance Manager and other departments’ Managers and staff.
• Supports the Project manager and waste management specialist in coordinating, planning, organizing, scheduling, and supervision over WNC facility operational staff and operations,
• Responsible for monitoring operational activities, reporting requirements and compliance.
• Works with upper management to coordinate all operational internal and external reporting on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports on all operational personnel and operations.
• Manages operations’ subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
• Reviews daily accomplishments and modifies work priorities of operations as necessary or requested.
• Responsible for implementing performance standards, and conducting performance evaluations for WNC facility operations
• Assists in design, permitting and construction of new waste treatment equipment and systems.
• Assists WNC upper management and maintenance staff in developing work-site plans for significant operations, maintenance and cleanup activities.
• Solicits and develops requests for process improvement, in accordance with WNC internal applicable policies and guidelines.
• Manages WNC operations’ equipment and consumable materials. Prepares and coordinates availability of materials and equipment required to meet operations’ responsibilities.
• Develops and/or coordinates with HSE and QA/QC staff ongoing on-the-job and in-house training for all operations’ system work tasks. Coordinates with WNC upper management permits’ request, review and renew.
Relevant Education
• A master’s degree in Environmental science or Waste Management or related field is required
• A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biochemical science, chemical and physical sciences, earth sciences or a related degree
• Essential Experience and Knowledge
• At least 7 years’ experience in waste management with at least 5 years as operation manager or any related leadership position in the same industry
• Experience in waste treatment facilities
• Experience in Waste Water treatment is a must
• Experience in Oil and Gas waste management is a must

• Availability to reside in Hoima region and to travel and stay frequently in project camps
