Job Purpose/Mission 

The Operations Data Analyst is a key team member mainly dedicated to Operations but also support in sales and any other scopes related to overall business performance across multiple departments in EEA Uganda. The Operations Data Analyst will be responsible for providing accurate and timely data analysis to support operational decision-making across the company. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and provide insights that drive operational efficiency and performance.
The right candidate will be analytical, curious, and having a passion for solving problems through a data-driven, customer-centric approach. Ideally, you would combine your analytical capability with a background in Operations strategy, especially with inventory, supply chain and stake holder management. Your work will make a meaningful impact by enabling EEA to stay accountable to our results, to better manage business performance, and to continuously innovate as we seek to go after our consolidated sales, active customer, revenue, and EBITDA targets.

Responsibilities

1. Monitor on an ongoing basis performance against key Operations, sales, and other agreed metrics across EEA Uganda, identifying improvement opportunities.
2. Create and maintain data models to support forecasting and scenario planning.
3. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can be used to optimize business operations.
4. Generate regular stock monitoring and sales reports in a sustainable and efficient way.
5. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to ensure and improve data availability, integrity, accuracy, and reliability.
6. Design, develop and own interactive Tableau dashboards to track key performance indicators and data trends to enable EEA Uganda to monitor the business efficiently.
7. Provide support on broader analytical needs of the EEA Uganda team, including analysis of pilots, interventions, sales operations, or field research work.
8. Work closely with other stakeholders and data users across the company to create and maintain controls systems and review standards which ensure data quality and prevent discrepancies.

Knowledge and skills
Experience:

1. At least 3+ years’ work experience in fields such as in data analysis, statistics, financial analysis, business analysis, or similar, particularly in sectors like retail financial services or telecommunications.
2. Exceptional analytical skills and ability to synthesize and interpret qualitative and quantitative data into practical strategy recommendations.
3. Experienced building clear and insightful data visualizations with tools like (MS Excel, Tableau, Power BI, D3, ggplot, etc.),
4. Able to build advanced queries using PostgreSQL, and comfortable with basics of with database management and data engineering.
5. Ability to use a multitude of languages e.g PostgreSQL, Python, and a number of tools to perform meaningful analytics to generate intelligent insights.
6. Demonstrated ability working across teams and functions on technical project.
7. Keen eye for detail and thoughtful investigation of data before relying upon it.
8. Exceptional judgement, problem-solving skills, and ability to “Think Big & Make it Happen” both independently and collaboratively.
9. Excitement about EEA’s mission and a deep desire to make an impact on off-grid and financially underserved customers in sub-Saharan Africa.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative subject such as Math, Statistics, Economics, etc.
