About US:
The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is a statutory body established under Section 9 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production Act 2013, and in line with the National Oil and Gas Policy for Uganda which was approved in 2008. The PAU’s mandate is to monitor and regulate the exploration, development and production, together with the refining, gas conversion, transportation and storage of petroleum in Uganda. This includes ensuring that petroleum operations in Uganda are carried out in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, statutes and in line with international best practice for the petroleum industry.
Job Summary: This job exists to manage the development of the PAU Strategic Plan and Annual Workplan and Budgets as well as contribute to the planning aspects of project formulation and preparation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the development of the PAU Strategic Plan and the preparation of the PAU Annual Work plan, budgets, procurement plans, and recruitment plan, and ensure timely submission.
- Participate in the design and delivery of research projects, to include research design, project management, technical support, enumerator training, field research, analysis, and report writing
- Aid in the drawing up of terms of reference for external organizations and individuals to carry out research and evaluation activities related to the Authority’s programme.
- Contribute to the PAU during project formulation/preparation and approval process by the Programme Secretariat and the Development Committee of MOFPED
- Collect, analyze, and disseminate data on the performance of the PAU.
- Give technical assistance to different directorates on planning functions.
- Undertake any other assignments as may be directed from time to time.
- An Honors Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics or a related field.
