Job Description/Requirements

Reports To: Head Teacher
Job Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement engaging daily activities that promote early learning in literacy, numeracy, motor skills, and social-emotional development.
- Use play-based and interactive learning strategies aligned with early childhood education best practices.
- Create and maintain a warm, safe, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and curiosity.
- Observe and assess children’s development and keep accurate records of progress.
- Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and guardians.
- Promote positive behavior through clear expectations and consistent routines.
- Ensure the health, hygiene, and safety of children at all times.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, training sessions, and school events.
- Collaborate with other nursery staff and support assistants.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of a Certificate in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or Nursery Teaching.
- Training in child psychology or Montessori is an added advantage.
- At least 1–2 years’ experience teaching in a nursery or early childhood setting.
Key Competencies:
- Warm, caring, and approachable demeanor.
- Creativity in planning and delivering lessons.
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and physically active.
- Good observation and assessment skills.
- Ability to manage a group of young children with patience and sensitivity.
