Key Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Providing 1st and 2nd level support on all incidents by identifying root cause of incidents and problems and mitigating against reoccurrence.
  • Experience in carrying out network assessments, updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases and reporting/recommendation writing.
  • Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery.
  • Proactively monitors the work queues, Identifies, investigates, analyses issues and errors prior to or when they occur, and log all such incidents in a timely manner
  • Performs operational tasks to resolve all incidents/requests in a timely manner and within the agreed SL and updates tickets with resolution tasks performed.
  • Contributes to the change management process by logging all change requests with complete details for standard and non-standard including patching and any other changes to Configuration Items and Ensures all changes are carried out with proper change approvals.
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for designing and deploying of networking systems.
  • To Design, implement, administer, and strong troubleshooting experience on the following: IOS and IOS-XE based routing platforms (ASRs, ISRs, CSRs) and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP etc) and Software Defined Networking technologies (SD-DC, SD-WAN, SD-Access)
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP and configuring Next generation enterprise firewalls (Cisco FTD, Checkpoint, Fortinet) and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.

Academic Qualifications, Certifications And Work Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field of study
  • At least 3 years in the enterprise networking field
  • Relevant industry standard certifications, e.g. ITIL
  • Cisco Professional level networking Certification i.e CCNP/CCDP/CCNP Security
  • Expert level network security certification i.e, Checkpoint CCSE, Fortinet NSE7 (enterprise firewall)
  • DevOps certification and experience scripting and network automation will be an added advantage.
