To support this goal, we seek a Monitoring and Evaluation Associate to design, coordinate and conduct research studies that are relevant to or commissioned by the project. You will also provide technical and managerial oversight to all research and evaluation study processes as well as consultants' performance (when required).

Brief Job Summary:

Your mission is to design, coordinate and conduct research studies that are relevant to or commissioned by the project.

Key Duties & Job Responsibilities

Organizational

  • Contribute to developing and maintaining M&E systems and frameworks for the projects and programs. Ensure that M&E plans align with project goals, indicators, and donor requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of program evaluation design plans for the project or as required by the stakeholders.

Functional

  • Support the collection, entry, and management of training and placement data.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor training in focus districts
  • Conduct periodic monitoring and reporting of training and placement to ensure adherence to the Mastercard Foundation training standards and dignified placement markers.
  • Conduct weekly/bi-monthly reviews of data entry spot checks to identify challenges in the data entry process and track resolutions and action items to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct bi-monthly knowledge management reviews, including updates on the status of core files, organisation of folders, and maintenance of the MERL Workspace.
  • Support Monitoring and Evaluation activities and capacity building across programs
  • Support staff and partner organizations in strengthening their understanding and implementation of M&E processes and tools. Conduct training sessions as needed to build M&E capacity.
  • Analyze all data across all initiatives, track program progress and evaluate its effectiveness. Provide actionable insights based on data findings to inform decision-making and program improvements.
  • Recruitment, training and management of Monitoring and Evaluation Volunteers in focus districts
  • Support the establishment of a 3 months M&E fellowship program to provide on-going support to the support team.
  • Develop content from the report findings and roundtable event discussions
  • Prepare regular monitoring reports, including weekly and monthly reports on project progress, outcomes, challenges, and recommendations. Contribute to reports and other documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Person Specifications:

Qualifications: 

  • B.Sc. graduates in Social Sciences or Research-related degrees.
  • M.Sc. in Social Sciences from a recognized institution is an added advantage.

Years of Experience:

  • 3-5 years combined work experience with national and international NGOs with hands-on expertise in empirical research, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and research writing will be given preference.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including internal leadership, and sponsor organizations.

Skills required to perform the Job: 

  • Background in research writing, emerging technologies, and methodologies for social science research is highly desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including internal leadership,funders, target audiences, and research partners
  • Comfortable working with third parties to set up participant recruitment,surveys, interviews, or focus group discussions
  • Entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity and adaptive to change with the ability to use an agile research approach and execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas to their essence
  • Strong stakeholder and project management skills at all levels of an organization
