JOB DETAILS:

Job Purpose:

To provide skilled, compassionate, and culturally sensitive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to mothers and newborns, ensuring safe delivery and promoting reproductive health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide full antenatal care, including screening, health education, and risk identification.
• Monitor and care for women during labor, managing normal deliveries independently.
• Provide immediate care for the newborn and postnatal care for the mother.
• Identify high-risk pregnancies and complications, making timely referrals.
• Offer family planning counseling and services.
• Educate mothers and families on infant care, immunization, and nutrition.
• Maintain partographs and all other midwifery records accurately.
• Work in maternity wards, labor suites, and antenatal clinics.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma in Midwifery or Bachelor of Science in Midwifery.
• Must hold a valid Practicing License from the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC).
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on midwifery experience in a clinical setting.
• Ability to manage normal deliveries and recognize obstetric emergencies is essential.
