JOB DETAILS:
The Medical Theatre In-Charge at Norvik Hospital Ltd oversees the efficient and effective operation of the hospital's medical theatre department, requiring strong leadership, managerial skills, and in-depth knowledge of Ugandan medical standards and regulations. Key responsibilities include ensuring high-quality patient care, compliance with medical protocols, and staff management to maintain safety and hygiene standards. Collaboration with surgical, anesthesia, and nursing teams is essential for seamless patient care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leadership and Management: Provide direction, supervise daily activities, and develop policies for efficiency.

• Operations Management: Coordinate OT activities, schedule surgeries, and ensure supply availability.

• Patient Care: Oversee surgical preparation, monitor patient flow, and ensure high-quality care delivery.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to medical standards, conduct audits, and maintain documentation.

• Staff Management, Development and Training: Provide training, conduct evaluations, and promote teamwork.
• Coordination and Communication: Facilitate inter-departmental communication and resolve conflicts.
• Equipment and Facility/Inventory Management: Maintain equipment functionality, manage inventory, and monitor environmental conditions.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality initiatives, stay updated with advancements, and implement process improvements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Medicine or related field.
• Valid Ugandan medical license.
• Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience, with 2 years in a managerial role in medical theatre.
• In-depth knowledge of medical procedures, surgical techniques, and anesthesia.
• Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Familiarity with Ugandan medical laws and standards.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and dignity.

Working Conditions:
• Involves standing and exposure to diseases and hazardous materials.
• Irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
