EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE FOLLOWING JOB SLOTS (HRM-24/015)

Karoli Lwanga Hospital- Nyakibale a PNFP(Private Not For Profit) located in Rukungiri District (South Western-Uganda) in its bid to fulfill its mission and vision hereby invites applications from dynamic, suitably qualified candidates with impeccable integrity to fill the vacant positions of;

1. MEDICAL OFFICER

RESPONSIBLE TO: MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT/ CEO

QUALIFICATION: MBChB OR EQUIVALENT AND MUST BE REGISTERED WITH UGANDA MEDICAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONERS COUNCIL

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Treatment of Patients
1. Consults senior medical officers where necessary in the treatment of patients.
2. Responsible for management of patients in OPD and IPD

3. Responsible for admission of patients in various hospital wards
4. Responsible for operative procedures
5. Handles referral cases from peripheral health units and recommends referrals where necessary
6. Responsible for ordering of special investigations where necessary

7. Attends departmental and other necessary meetings
8. Organizes Continuing Medical Education on the ward where s/he is attached
9. Must adhere to highest quality medical care and observe a high degree of professional code of conduct b. Teaching
1. Is responsible for bedside teaching for students and junior staff during ward rounds
2. Is responsible for supervision of Junior medical staff
c. Administration
1. May be appointed by Management team on any sub-committee
2. Recommends to the drugs Committee which drugs to order and participates in rational drug prescription practices
3. Shall report to the medical Superintendent any matters of medical concern and or notification of drug resistance, epidemic etc
4. Shall be involved in hospital development standards
5. Attends departmental meetings
6. Makes reports on issues of legal concern
7. Organizing and participating in issues of medical concern as well as operational research
8. May be assigned any other duties as deemed necessary by the medical superintendent.
