Job Summary:

The primary responsibility for this position is to support the MEAL Officer and the South Western project team in conducting MEAL activities, including data entry and data analysis, and to monitor the extent to which projects are meeting their objectives. Moreover, to strengthen accountability systems to ensure that support is extended to all beneficiaries. The MEAL assistant will also support in strengthening the capacity of Oxfam staff on monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must hold a Diploma/Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in IT, public health, statistics, project management or any other related field from a recognized university, with a postgraduate diploma in monitoring and evaluation as essential
  • At least two years practical experience and knowledge in research, monitoring and evaluation in emergencies or development projects,
  • Knowledge of some or all of the following tools – Excel(including pivot tables),SPSS, Stata, Epidata, ,ODK/ KoBo tool box, Survey CTO.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and good technical writing skills.
  • Strong commitment to gender equality and social justice.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and commitment to meet deadlines. Commitment to the aims and objectives of Oxfam.
  • Potential and flexibility of attitude to learn.
  • Ability speak local language is an essential.
