Job Description
The role of the AMI Monitoring and Evaluation Manager - Ecosystems focuses on developing and implementing M&E strategies and systems, data management, and stakeholder coordination for SME eco-system projects. These types of projects generally involve directly training business development service providers who then go on to deliver these services to SMEs. This unique role, therefore, requires developing specialized M&E methodologies for tracking and measuring both direct and indirect beneficiaries, at scale.
Specific roles and responsibilities
1. Design and implement M&E Systems - Contribute to the design and implementation of a robust M&E system tailored to strategic clients needs to systematically track, assess, and enhance performance and outcomes. This involves designing data collection tools, methodologies, and quality assurance procedures for both direct and indirect beneficiary tracking to ensure that data is accurate and useful for  decision-making.
2. Data Collection and Analysis - Design data collection tools, collect and analyze data from various sources, such as Data Warehouses, ERP systems, and project documentation, ensuring the data is relevant, timely, and accurate.

3. Technical Assistance and Capacity Building - Design and implement technical assistance and capacity building activities for AMI staff, clients, and local service providers in the form of tools, methods, trainings, and resources for developing technical learning and adaptation capacity that effectively meets programmatic and organizational needs.

4. Reporting - Supports Program Managers in drafting and reviewing technical documents and reports, including donor reports, project or study briefs, or other dissemination products to promote learning, and enhance visibility of AMI and its clients.

5. M&E Systems and Database Management - Developing and maintaining M&E systems, including data management processes and procedures.
6. Supervision and Support - Supervise the M&E Officers and provide necessary guidance and support. Direct the M&E staff team to regularly build their skills and strategies to meet global standards of M&E and excellent performance management.

7. Data Visualization and Dashboards - Develop data visualization tools and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making. Ensure accurate, real-time data is available for internal decision-making and external reporting.
8. Stakeholder Coordination - Liaise with partners and other organizations to ensure effective collaboration on M&E issues.Identify and engage in strategic partnerships with relevant external organizations, conferences, learning platforms and events to showcase and disseminate lessons.

9. Development of Learning Agenda - Facilitates and leads the development of project level learning agenda, including leading the development of technically sound research questions, defining research methods and overseeing implementation of relevant learning activities with project partners.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in M&E, research, statistics, social sciences, international development, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• At least five years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of development programs, including IMM frameworks, with demonstrated experience in data analysis and report writing.

• Experience in designing and implementing M&E plans for complex development programs, SME sector an added advantage.
• Experience designing and developing research tools, including the use of Open Data Kit, Kobo Collect, or similar.
• Experience working on programs funded by donors such as the Master Card Foundation, USAID, World Bank, etc an advantage.
• A technical solutions approach to handling problems

• Demonstrated ability to transform a logical framework into an actionable solution in complex implementation environments.
• Excellent written and verbal  communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, and proficiency in using statistical or analysis software such as Nvivo, SPSS, STATA, or R
• Strong interpersonal and team management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
• Experience working in a multicultural workplace in Africa
