JOB DETAILS:
JOB PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this role is to develop, implement and execute strategic marketing plans for the entire organization and its brands. The job holder is mandated to ensure that the organization’s products and services resonate with current and potential customers through brand building, campaigns and value propositions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop brand strategies and marketing campaigns across print, broadcast and online to increase the organization's visibility and ensure that products and services meet customers’ expectations thereby building credibility.
• Manage budget and costs of all marketing department activities, as well as the budget, spends for each of the brands.

• Evaluate, analyze and report on market intelligence, new opportunities and innovations to ensure the organization is exploiting the relevant marketing avenues.
• Drive execution of marketing campaigns and innovations on time and in full. Analyze the success of marketing campaigns, creating and presenting reports on the same to the relevant parties.

• Formulate and implement the marketing, branding and customer service strategy that will promote the company’s brand internally and externally as well as enhance customer service standards.

• Support the management of the New Product Development process for the Commercial Business Unit and provide leadership in marketing and product sales, to meet profitability targets and market demand.

• Manage stakeholder relationships (both internal and external) to ensure efficiency in the department and the organization at large.
• To build and maintain productive and strategic relationships with customers/ stakeholders/business units to create receptive market for growth of the brand, enhancing brand equity across customer segments.

• Carry out market research and customer insights to support decision making and keep up to date with customer trends, as well as try to predict future trends.
• Maintain a detailed and current understanding of the industry; (at a macro, sector-specific, current market structures, regulatory requirements and issues) to ensure that opportunities are realized and the risks mitigated.

• Enforce compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, motivate, and continuously develop a credible high performing team

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Minimum Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or any related field.
• Professional qualification in marketing (CIM) is required.
• A master’s degree in business or any related field is an added advantage.
• Management training and leadership courses are an added advantage.
• At least seven (7) years of proven experience in a similar role or the FMCG sector with:
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in brand strategy, activation, execution and management.
• A minimum of five (5) years experience in budget management.
• A minimum of five (5) years experience in new product and innovation as well as 3rd part management.
• Experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry (CPG) is preferred
• Must have the expertise and have achieved proven results across various marketing communications disciplines including advertising, PR, digital, social, shopper marketing, consumer promotions, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office tools.
• Membership to a Professional body i.e., the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) is desirable.
