Applications Administrator, Database Administrator
Indirect – IT Services Consultants, External IT Services Vendors
Interacts/interfaces with:
Internal – Head of Departments, All Staff (Key Users)
External – IT Services Consultants, External IT Services Vendors

Job Purpose
To manage and support the various Information Systems Teams in providing the bank’s core banking and business functionality.

Key Result Areas
1. Implement specific strategies to achieve 99% uptime of all business applications of the Bank.
2. Ensure utility and warranty for all technology services under IS section following the ITIL framework.

Develop and Implement specific Disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for all business applications of the Bank.
4. Oversee installation and configuration, testing of both banking and non-banking applications.

Manage execution of service requests for upgrading, maintenance and routine support to applications in line with SLA obligations.

Continuously engage users to obtain feedback on functionality of different applications and feedback to the Business Technology Teams
7. Work with the change and digital transformation teams to propose improvements on existing applications and to make proposals for new innovations based on user feedback and
1. emerging business needs.
8. Ensure that service requests and problems are addressed in a timely manner.
9. Review documentation relating to different applications and propose improvements to the various processes and procedures for the existing and new applications

Supervise the implementation of agreed controls and all protocols relating to safe management of information in all data bases to ensure integrity of data in the databases
11. Accountable for effective supervision and managing the performance of the team

Person Specifications
Education & Training
1. Bachelor’s Degree in ICT and Computer related studies e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or other related studies e.g. Bachelor of Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Electrical, Data Communication and Networks
2. Post graduate training in Databases Administration and Applications and Software Development e.g Java, MySql, Cloud Application Developer, Cloud Native Developer, Mobile
3. Application Developer, or Cloud Application Administrator and management of ERPs.
4. ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management

Skills & Experience
1. At least 5 years’ experience in Applications Development and maintenance
2. Proven technical Skills in Applications and Software Development e.g Java, MySql, Cloud Application Developer, Cloud Native Developer, Mobile Application Developer, or Cloud Application Administrator and management of ERPs.
3. Skills in databases administration
4. Experience and in-depth Knowledge for the diverse range of all the software and hardware in the Bank including management of ERPs
5. Ability to effectively supervise and manage the performance of a small technical team
6. Skills in innovation
7. Attention to detail
