Job Description: Maintenance Engineer
Position: Maintenance Engineer
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Job Type: Full-Time

Role Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to oversee and optimize the
maintenance processes within our client facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for

ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all plant equipment, overseeing preventive
maintenance schedules and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime. The Maintenance
Engineer should have strong technical skills, experience in managing teams and a track record
of success in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Lead maintenance teams and assign daily tasks to ensure efficient and safe operation
• of equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery issues providing technical solutions to minimize
• downtime.
• Collaborate with other departments to support equipment upgrades and installations.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance tools and supplies, ensuring efficient
• use of resources.
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team, assigning tasks,
• monitoring progress and providing technical support to ensure timely and effective
• completion of maintenance work.
• Plan, schedule and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring
• minimal downtime and optimal performance of equipment while prioritizing safety and
• operational efficiency.
• Manage inventory of maintenance tools, parts, and supplies, tracking usage, ordering
• necessary items, and ensuring adequate stock levels to support uninterrupted
• maintenance operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all
• maintenance activities.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role within an industrial
• environment.
• Proven experience in managing a team or maintenance projects.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across departments.
• Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.
