JOB DETAILS:

Position: Machine Operator

Department: Factory

Reports to: Factory Manager

Place of work: Kampala

Responsibilities & Tasks

Job Summary

Operate coffee machines and ensure proper maintenance of the same

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor the performance of machines and report regularly to the factory Manager
• Achieve the days production targets in terms of quantity and quality and report to the factory manager
• Clean all machinery before and after work and ensure that they are switched on and off adequately. Protect machines from misuse.
• Analyse coffee retention every hour and make necessary adjustments to achieve the required quality
• Fix loose bolts and ensure a safe work environment
• Do regular preventive maintenance of all machines in your section
• Do breakdown maintenance quickly to make the down time as short as possible
• Keep a mechanical report of all break downs in the interruption logbook and fill the required incident reports
• Ensure all maintenance and cleaning checklists are filled in correctly.
• Any other official duties as required by immediate Supervisor.

Language Skills

Proficient in English and any other local languages.

Professional expertise

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
• Strong understanding of process flow management, lean manufacturing, and preventive maintenance.
• Proven leadership experience managing multi-functional teams.
• Knowledge of coffee processing is an added advantage.
