JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary:
The Low Current Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all low current systems within the hotel premises, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and guest satisfaction. These systems include CCTV, fire alarms, access control, public address (PA) systems, structured cabling, IPTV, intercoms, and guest room management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain low current systems including:
- CCTV surveillance
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- Access control and biometric systems
- Audio/visual and public address (PA) systems
- Data and telephone cabling (LAN/WAN)
- IPTV and satellite TV systems
- Room automation and BMS (Building Management Systems)
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to guest services.
- Perform regular inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with hotel standards and safety regulations.
- Work with external vendors or contractors on system upgrades and integrations.
- Keep accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Provide technical support during hotel events requiring A/V systems or network configurations.
- Coordinate with IT, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure seamless operation of low voltage systems.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, especially related to electrical safety and fire prevention.
- Participate in energy-saving initiatives and system optimizations.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality or commercial facility.
- Hands-on experience with installation and troubleshooting of low current systems.
- Familiarity with standards for fire alarm systems, structured cabling, and CCTV.
- Knowledge of networking basics (IP addressing, LAN setup) is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualities:
- Experience working in a 4 or 5-star hotel environment.
- Certifications in fire alarm systems, CCTV, or access control (e.g., Honeywell, Bosch, Hikvision, etc.).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, if needed.
- Customer service-oriented mindset and a professional demeanor.
