The Locum Maternal and Child Health Program’s purpose is to facilitate government-led leadership and enhance sustainable multi-sectoral coordination to accelerate gains in nutrition, maternal, new born and child health outcomes.
The Maternal and Child Health Specialist will support the technical director MCH to influence planning, accelerated implementation and quality improvement, maintain technical partnerships, and provide strategic technical support to ensure that evidence is updated, generated, collected and disseminated for effective technical use and policy dialogue.

To be successful for this role you will bring/have the following:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing or applied health sciences.
- A Master’s Degree in Public Health is an added advantage
- At least 3 years’ experience in similar related programs or projects with a focus on maternal and child health programming, QA/QI and provision of technical support.
- Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work with diverse teams across the organization
- Excellent skills in program design, reporting, documentation, monitoring and evaluation
- Experience in working with external stakeholders with good knowledge of Uganda’s health system and structures
- Must be a creative individual with strong sense of vision, commitment and priorities
- Advanced proficiency in computer packages such as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills.
