Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and business operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan corporate laws, labor laws, and industry regulations.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, disputes, and negotiations.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks by developing robust policies and procedures.
• Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external legal advisors.
• Conduct legal research and provide updates on changes in laws affecting the business.
• Support HR and management teams on employment law and workplace policies.
• Handle intellectual property, trademarks, and compliance-related legal matters.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
• 5 to 10 years of experience in legal advisory roles, preferably in FMCG or industrial sectors.
• Strong understanding of Ugandan corporate and commercial law.
• Experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in corporate litigation, arbitration, and compliance management.
• Knowledge of intellectual property laws and trademark registration processes.
• Familiarity with international business laws and cross-border legal transactions.
