Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with 5 to 10 years of expertise in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and contract management within the FMCG or industrial sector. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Ugandan legal frameworks and business regulations to ensure corporate compliance and risk mitigation.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and business operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with Ugandan corporate laws, labor laws, and industry regulations.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, disputes, and negotiations.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks by developing robust policies and procedures.
- Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and external legal advisors.
- Conduct legal research and provide updates on changes in laws affecting the business.
- Support HR and management teams on employment law and workplace policies.
- Handle intellectual property, trademarks, and compliance-related legal matters.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).
- 5 to 10 years of experience in legal advisory roles, preferably in FMCG or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of Ugandan corporate and commercial law.
- Experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in corporate litigation, arbitration, and compliance management.
- Knowledge of intellectual property laws and trademark registration processes.
- Familiarity with international business laws and cross-border legal transactions.
