JOB DETAILS:
Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) is a Public University established under Statutory Instrument Number 2 of 2022, hence a body corporate with perpetual succession and a Common Seal. First established as a Private University in 2005, by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), in accordance with the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001, as amended, MMU strives to become an academic Centre of excellence by recruiting high-caliber staff. Therefore, MMU invites applications from suitably qualified and skilled Ugandans for the following position:

Main Purpose of the Job
To teach, supervise, promote research studies, disseminate research findings, and participate in community service.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare lectures and conduct lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Conduct research and disseminate research findings.
• Supervise students undertaking research.
• Conduct seminars and tutorials.
• Set coursework, tests, and examinations according to university standards.
• Administer coursework, manage and invigilate tests, and examinations according to university standards.

• Mark tests, examination scripts, and compile results according to approved grading standards of the university.
• Attend to students’ inquiries and academic issues.

• Perform any other official duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Person Specifications
(a) Qualifications
• Should have a Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology and be on a Ph.D. track in a related and relevant field.
• Possession of a Ph.D. in the related and relevant field will be an added advantage.

• Should hold a minimum of a Second Upper Bachelor's Degree in Medical Lab Science or Medical Lab Technology.

(b) Experience and Competencies
• Should have at least three (3) years of teaching experience at the level of Assistant Lecturer.
• Should have at least three (3) internationally recognized peer-reviewed publications in the field of specialization, with at least one as the main author.
• Should be computer literate and possess good communication skills.
• Implementation of a research project(s) as assistant PI or team member is an added advantage.
• Registration with a professional body in the field of specialization is an added advantage.
