JOB DETAILS:

Our client in the health sector is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Laboratory Technologist to join our team.

Location: Naalya, Kampala

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology/Science from a recognized institution
• Valid practicing license from the Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC)
• Minimum of 2 years' relevant work experience in a clinical/hospital laboratory setting
• Sound knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, quality control, and specimen handling
• Proficiency in routine laboratory investigations (hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, parasitology)
• Experience with pediatric specimen collection is an added advantage
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and good communication skills
• Computer literacy (LIS/data entry experience a plus)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests accurately and promptly
• Ensure proper specimen collection, labeling, handling, and storage
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to quality assurance standards
• Record, interpret, and report test results to clinicians in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and inventory of reagents/supplies
• Adhere to infection control and biosafety protocols
• Liaise with referral laboratories where necessary
