Laboratory Assistant

Role Summary

The Laboratory Assistant will support laboratory operations by collecting, preparing, and processing patient specimens while ensuring accurate laboratory procedures and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and prepare patient specimens for laboratory testing.
• Perform routine laboratory procedures under the supervision of qualified laboratory personnel.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.
• Prepare laboratory equipment and reagents for testing.
• Record and maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of laboratory waste in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and report stock shortages.
• Adhere to infection prevention, quality assurance, and laboratory safety standards.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Good understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

• Previous relevant working experience.
