The Junior Marketing Associate is responsible for supporting the marketing team in planning, executing, and monitoring marketing campaigns and strategies. This role involves conducting market research, analyzing consumer behavior, managing social media accounts, and assisting with the creation of promotional materials to enhance brand awareness and drive engagement. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for marketing and a desire to grow within the field.

Key Responsibilities for Junior Marketing Associate at Tripesa

1. Campaign Support

  • Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Collaborate with team members to design and deliver campaign materials, including brochures, emails, and ads.
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing actionable insights for optimization.

2. Content Creation

  • Create, edit, and proofread content for social media, blogs, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
  • Maintain consistency with the brand voice, style, and messaging guidelines.
  • Design basic visual content using tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar software (as applicable).

3. Social Media Management

  • Schedule and publish posts on various social media platforms.
  • Engage with followers, respond to comments, and monitor brand mentions.
  • Track metrics such as engagement rates, impressions, and conversions to measure social media success.

4. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Research and incorporate relevant keywords into web content to improve search engine rankings.
  • Optimize on-page elements, including meta tags, headers, and image alt texts.
  • Track and analyze website traffic using tools like Google Analytics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on SEO trends and implement best practices in content creation.

5. Market Research

  • Conduct research on competitors, market trends, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Compile findings into clear reports to guide marketing strategies.

6. Event Coordination

  • Support in organizing and promoting events such as webinars, trade shows, and community outreach programs.
  • Handle logistical details and ensure proper execution of events.

7. Administrative Support

  • Maintain marketing databases, updating them with new contacts and relevant data.
  • Track budgets and expenses to ensure campaigns remain within financial guidelines.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

8. New Market Penetration and Expansion

  • Regional Growth: Support Tripesa`s growth strategy by identifying and helping enter new geographical markets. Drive expansion into regions such as Kasese, Buganda, and other high potential Uganda tourism hubs.
  • Market Share Growth: Increase Tripesa`s market share within key accounts by demonstrating value, implementing cutting edge-technology solutions, and expanding product adoption across regions and business segments.

Key Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, advertising, or a related field.
  • Internships or volunteer experience in marketing are highly advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills: Develop and maintain strong communications with clients.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools: Software (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or HubSpot).
  • Familiarity with design tools: Like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset: An ability to interpret data and generate insights.
