By promoting locally grown produce, we aim to generate quality jobs, income, and benefit the climate and environment. The company currently has 6 employees and operates a modest demo farm in Kampala. Recent market outreach has revealed significant market potential.

Role Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking a proactive and organized Junior HR Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will support various HR functions including hiring, contract management, performance management, team building, and support in office administration. This role is crucial in helping us build a strong and efficient team dedicated to our mission.
• Hiring and Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment process by posting job ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews. Work with senior team to identify staffing needs and requirements. Conduct initial interviews and participate in the selection process. Onboard new employees.

Contract Management: Prepare and manage employment contracts and related documentation. Ensure compliance with labour laws (including OHS) and company policies. Maintain accurate records of employee contracts and updates.

Performance Management: Support the implementation of performance appraisal systems. Assist in setting performance goals and conducting performance reviews. Provide administrative support for performance improvement plans.

Team Building: Organize and coordinate team-building activities and events. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Promote employee engagement through various initiatives.

General Office Administration: Assist in day-to-day office operations and administrative tasks. Handle employee inquiries and provide support as needed. Assist in organizing company meetings, events, and training sessions.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in general office software and HR software.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Prior experience in HR or administrative roles is a plus.
