We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant/Accounting Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the bookkeeping and accounting functions for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. You will work to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant monthly financial reporting for our Clientele.

Job Description/Requirements

The Junior Accountant/Accounting Associate will support the bookkeeping operations of our accounting firm. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records for a range of clients by recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports. This role requires attention to detail, well developed accounting knowledge, and basic proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software. It offers an excellent opportunity to grow professionally in a fast-paced, client-focused environment while working under the guidance of Senior Accountants.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Record and reconcile daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments using QuickBooks online accounting software.
  2. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for clients.
  3. Maintain up-to-date general ledgers and client records.
  4. Review accurancy of payables and receivables ledgers.
  5. Perform bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations.
  6. Assist in the preparation and review of client budgets and forecasts.
  7. Support preparation and submission of Client tax information, where applicable.
  8. Assist in the setup and onboarding of new clients, including capturing chart of accounts, opening balances, and financial history.
  9. Respond to client queries and provide bookkeeping support as needed.
  10. Work with senior staff to ensure compliance with internal processes and external regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Actively pursuing a professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent at level II.
  • 1–2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related roles (internship experience considered).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and a commitment to professional ethics.
  • Strong proficiency in the English language, with clear verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to articulate information effectively.
