JOB DETAILS:
IT Technician for a Technology and Security Systems company
March 21, 2025 Don

Job duties:
• Maintaining records of software licenses.
• Managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other IT related supplies.
• Talking to clients and computer users to determine the nature of problems.
• Responding to breakdowns.
• Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, scanners and more.
• Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades.

 

 

• Investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults.
• Agreeing call-out timescales.
• Obtaining replacement or specialist components, fixtures or fittings.
• Repairing equipment and replacing parts.
• Supervising junior engineering and technical staff.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.

 

 

• Checking computer equipment for electrical safety.

 

 

• Consulting computer users to ascertain needs and to ensure that facilities meet user or

project requirements.
• Keeping up-to-date with new technology.
• Managing it budgets, requisition of required equipment.
• Managing a team of staff including programmers, analysts and support specialists.
• Evaluating the functionality of systems.
• Call out client required support and installation.
• Scheduling upgrades.
• Providing user training, support, advice and feedback.
• Testing and modifying systems to ensure that they operate reliably.
• Managing secure network access for remote users.
• Designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation.
• Ensuring adherence with software licensing laws.
• Implementing and managing security or integrity and backup procedures.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, and network management.

• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing IT equipment.
• Familiarity with software licensing and compliance.
