Description
1. IT Support Engineer
Location: Kampala, Albert Lake production installation base or other cities in Uganda if required.
Primary function:
• To provide End Users Hardware, Software and Applications support to CNOOC Uganda staff and systems.
Responsibilities:
• Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
• Recording and tracking service requests and incidents ensuring timely resolution and fulfilment of incidents and requests respectively.
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
• Providing technical support across the company
• Coordinating repairs and replacement of equipment as necessary
• Continuously researching and testing new technology as the IT world is so dynamic
• Manage iT assets and life cycle ensuring all staff have functional working tools
• Vendor Management to ensure timely delivery of services
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Informatics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer engineering or the related.
• At least 3 years’ experience in an ITIL compliant environment providing IT support to staff at a reputable organization
Knowledge:
• Good understanding computer network topologies, LAN,
• Good knowledge of Windows Desktop OS
• Good understanding of IT service management practices based on ITIL
• Knowledge of IT service management tools
• Good troubleshooting skills · TIL Foundation, CCNA, or equivalent experience is desirable.
