JOB DETAILS:

Job Purpose   

Lead the development and management of technological infrastructure and oversee SAP implementation. This position will be responsible for optimizing business processes, improving system performance, and ensuring reliable and efficient IT operations across all departments.

Key Result Areas and

Activities          SAP Implementation & Optimization

    • Lead comprehensive workflow reviews across departments to identify gaps and finalize configurations within SAP, ensuring all branches are integrated
    • Spearhead automation initiatives for manual processes, with particular focus on Customer Care and Finance units to reduce duplication and streamline operations
    • Develop and implement department-specific SAP usage checklists to ensure consistent system utilization for core tasks
    • Establish and manage structured user engagement forums and feedback mechanisms to build user confidence and address pain points
    • Design and implement a clear support framework with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
    • Create and maintain a central communication platform for all SAP updates and changes
    • Initiate and oversee a master data cleanup initiative to standardize and validate existing records across all modules
    • Collaborate with functional leads to define, build, and validate key operational and managerial reports within SAP
    • Implement routine data governance checks to maintain integrity of newly entered data
    • Manage the integration of SAP with Uganda Revenue Authority's EFRIS system to eliminate parallel invoice processing IT Infrastructure & Support
    • Deploy and manage centralized performance monitoring tools to track IT health metrics and identify bottlenecks
    • Conduct system audits, carry out risk assessments, and document any anomalies detected.
    • Implement and oversee a helpdesk/ticketing system for support request management and performance tracking
    • Design and deliver training programs for IT staff and end-users on new systems and processes
    • Develop and enforce access policies with quarterly reviews of system permissions and roles
    • Create, implement, and maintain IT policies and Standard Operating Procedures

(SOPs) across all departments

  • Document and update infrastructure architecture, system configurations, and support protocols
  • Establish a centralized platform (SharePoint, Google Workspace, etc.) for report and documentation storage
  • Implement and manage an asset tracking system for the full lifecycle of devices
  • Oversee the provision of essential equipment (laptops, email accounts) to users handling sensitive information
  • Manage IT budget allocation for hardware upgrades and replacements

            OTC

  • Lead migration of internet connectivity to fiber cable across all locations
  • Establish and implement regular computer servicing schedules for all sites
  • Manage CCTV camera systems including password management and access protocols
  • Install and maintain firewalls and other security measures to protect against external intrusion
  • Oversee Microsoft         365      license             renewals          including          Microsoft         Co-Pilot implementation
  • Coordinate the provision of extended monitors to accommodate new system requirements
  • Manage the ISP for better connectivity.
  • Ensure setup of Geofences in OTC to know exact position of tracking as per operations requirement.
  • Liaise with the operations team to make sure the required truck information from the transporters is updated in OTC system.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education, Training, Skills & Experience         Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any other related qualification
  • SAP certification and experience in implementation and optimization
  • Should have Knowledge in Data warehouse Management.
  • Should have Knowledge in Database Management like Microsoft SQL Server and Crystal reports.
  • Should have Data Analytics and Software Programming skills.
  • Experience in training and change management
  • PGD or related professional qualifications are an added advantage. Experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position of which 3 years should be at management level
