BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd launched on 25 April 2019 and attained its status as a Tier II Credit institution following a successful background as the leading Microfinance services provider in Uganda. The Bank operates 32 CI branches and 130 satellite offices covering 84 districts in Uganda, targeting Micro, Small, and Medium Entrepreneurs. BRAC Uganda Bank Ltd promotes financial inclusion by extending financial services to unserved and underserved populations, especially women and youth as well as people living in poverty in rural areas. To enable us to serve our customers better, we are seeking to fill the following vacancy.
Job Title: IT Infrastructure Manager
Reports to: Head of ICT

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage and support all infrastructural related components that include LAN, AN, IP Telephony, IT Hardware, and related Operating Systems and Applications.
• Develop and provide system infrastructure that supports the defined architecture to meet IT solutions for specified business requirements.

• Ensure the configuration and management of ICT Assets, including software licensing.

• Ensure and manage the controlled resolution of major infrastructural incidents and problems, including prioritization, root cause documentation, and implementation of remedies.
• Support and implement major infrastructural changes to the components of a live infrastructure to maintain availability, effectiveness, and risk compliance.
• Ensure capacity management of all ICT infrastructure components.
• Participate in commercial negotiations for supplier contracts for service delivery and manage vendor relationships with key service providers.
• Review the Business Continuity Management plan and ensure required tests are executed and failures addressed.
• Action, drive, and implement Disaster Recovery DR for all aspects to ensure quick turnaround times in cases of system downtimes.
• Review patching and vulnerability reports for servers, desktops, and other components and remediate as required.

• Manage and monitor staff performance, set performance objectives, and carry out appraisals, coaching, and mentoring of all staff under jurisdiction.
• Review weekly and monthly reports detailing LAN, AN, and security status, along with incident reports for identified threats, and advise senior management on risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure secure, reliable, and efficient WAN connections for all sites by liaising with service providers and vendors.
• Manage the preventive maintenance of all critical devices, e.g., servers, UPS, to ensure servicing is conducted per schedule and SLAs.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
o Bachelor’s Degree is a must; a master’s degree is an added advantage (Computer science, ICT, Electronic Engineering, or related field).

PROFESSIONAL DEGREE / CERTIFICATION
• ICT-related certifications (CCNP, and other areas such as virtualization and data center) are an added advantage.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
o Deep understanding of IT infrastructure components, including LAN, AN, servers, storage systems, virtualization, and cloud computing.
o Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux), databases, and networking protocols.
o Strategy development, project management, systems audit, and analysis.
o Exceptional People Management skills.
o Ability to work in a multidimensional/multicultural setting.
o Networking and negotiation skills.
o Good communication skills.
o Analytical and planning skills

EXPERIENCE
o At least 5 years in-depth experience in an ICT Department in a business environment.
o Experience in major infrastructure project-like data center setup.
o Experience in large-scale operations with outreach in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
