As our IT Administrator, you won't just be maintaining systems—you'll be the tech champion for a dynamic team dedicated to connecting Ugandans with meaningful employment. You'll be the go-to expert for all IT needs, ensuring our hardware and software run seamlessly so we can focus on our mission. If you're passionate about leveraging technology to drive social change in a fast-paced environment, have at least 2 years of experience in Helpdesk support, IT management, and Systems administration, and prioritize implementing industry best practices to safeguard infrastructure and data security, then this is your chance to shine!
Key Responsibilities:
Helpdesk & User Support
- Provide timely technical support (onsite and remote) for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Manage IT helpdesk requests, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal downtime.
- Train and guide staff on IT tools, security best practices, and new systems.
Systems & Network Administration
- Administer, configure, and monitor servers, workstations, and network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs).
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Google Workspace and other business applications.
- Perform routine system updates, backups, and patch management.
IT Management & Security
- Maintain and document IT assets, licenses, and inventory.
- Ensure data protection, cybersecurity, and compliance with company IT policies.
- Implement and monitor endpoint security (antivirus, firewall, data loss prevention).
- Support the rollout of IT projects, upgrades, and new technologies.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers to resolve escalated technical issues.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to IT infrastructure and systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in IT administration, helpdesk support, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of: Windows/Linux operating systems, Google Workspace, Networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs) and IT security principles and tools
- Experience managing hardware (PCs, laptops, printers, VoIP, mobile devices).
- Familiarity with CRM, ERP, or cloud-based business applications is an added advantage.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
