On behalf of our client, INUA CAPITAL, we are looking for a competentskilled, and experienced Investment Analyst to work in Uganda.

Job Summary:

The investment analyst will support critical elements of the investment evaluation process and will have responsibility for (and gain experience in) financial analysis and business strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Draft investment memoranda and business plans to support process of making new investments.
  • Develop financial models to support the decision analysis on potential investment opportunities.
  • Lead due-diligence review of company information, documentation and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies for Inua Capital’s investee companies to increase revenue, improve operations, strengthen financial controls, and increase shareholder value.
  • Perform analytical assessments (pricing analyses, cost cards, competitive positioning, etc).
  • Track and manage the Fund’s pipeline of new potential investments, and perform first screenings.
  • Research sectors and industry players, and develop an “informed perspective” of assigned sectors.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to support the transaction execution process, including deal structuring and negotiation.
  • Monitor portfolio companies, coordinate portfolio companies Board meetings, collate performance information (financial, ESG, impact) periodically and perform periodic valuations and analysis.
  • Advise and provide support to investees’ founders and management teams.
  • Share some responsibility in the management of the day-to-day administration of the Fund.
  • Cultivate network in the entrepreneurship and investment ecosystem, and further Inua’s network.
  • Exude passion for the job, work hard daily, take initiative regularly, and demonstrably ascribe to culture of collaboration, continual learning/growth/self-improvement – this is an absolute must.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Fund’s leadership.   

  Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Excellent academic credentials and is highly numerate and analytical.
  • Excellent writing skills, exceptional Excel skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A real passion for business and a basic understanding of business performance management.
