Overview:

Our Client (Gorilla Conservation Coffee) is looking for a seasoned Inventory/Logistics Manager with international experience in the coffee, tourism, and travel industries. The ideal candidate will possess strong supply chain and inventory management skills, and be responsible for optimizing our logistics operations, managing stock levels, and ensuring efficient distribution across multiple locations. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth flow of products from suppliers to customers while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. International Logistics and Supply Chain Management:
    • Develop and implement global logistics strategies to optimize the flow of goods across international borders.
    • Manage relationships with international suppliers, distributors, and logistics partners.
    • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
  2. Coffee Industry Expertise:
    • Leverage knowledge of the coffee industry to manage the supply chain of coffee products, from sourcing to distribution.
    • Monitor market trends and supply chain disruptions in the coffee sector to mitigate risks and ensure a steady supply.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and producers to maintain high-quality standards for coffee products.
  3. Tourism and Travel Coordination:
    • Coordinate logistics for travel and tourism-related activities, including the transportation and distribution of promotional materials and products.
    • Manage inventory for tourism-related goods and ensure timely delivery to various locations.
  4. Inventory Management:
    • Oversee the inventory management system, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of stock levels.
    • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses and optimize stock levels.
    • Analyze inventory data to forecast demand and plan for future inventory needs.
  5. Distribution and Transportation:
    • Plan and manage the transportation and distribution of goods to various locations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
    • Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics service providers.
  6. Warehouse Management:
    • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
    • Implement best practices for warehouse management, including layout optimization, space utilization, and safety protocols.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  7. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Utilize data analytics to monitor logistics performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
    • Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, supply chain performance, and logistics costs.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
  8. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of logistics and inventory professionals.
    • Conduct training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5years of experience in inventory and logistics management, preferably in the coffee, tourism, or travel industries.
  • Strong international experience with knowledge of global logistics and supply chain practices.
  • Proficient in inventory management systems and software.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
