Internship opportunities

1. Background

Phenomenal Women Global (PWG) is a non-profit association, based in Switzerland and Uganda that aims to empower women and girls to succeed through positive mentoring, coaching and leadership programs, in order for them to develop and achieve their personal and professional goals.

A variety of gender-specific and career development workshops and opportunities, in diverse thematic areas, as well as work-life and spiritual balance, are organized in collaboration with sister organizations around the world.

PWG believes that in order for women to realize their full potential and lead impactful lives, they need to be visionary, innovative, create networks and be politically, socially and economically empowered. PWG’s activities target all women from diverse professional, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, with a prominent focus on African women / women of African descent.

The intern(s) will be under the direct support and supervision of the co-founders and other persons delegated to do so.

2. Key tasks of the Internship :

· Prepare project documents including, concept papers and annual activity report.

· Prepare funding proposals and fundraising strategy

· Support membership, mailing list and subscriptions

· Support mentorship program

· Provide support and advice to organize Phenomenal Women Conferences around the world by liaising with focal points and partners in those locations

· Website and content development and updating.

· Supporting Social media communications

· Any other assigned tasks

3. Desirable qualifications/skills

· Minimum Undergraduate University degree

· Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable: events management programme management, fund raising , communications, social media media, development, strategic planning, management, human resources, IT, marketing on social media, or other related area., working with a non-profit organization

· Languages: English

· Ability to work unsupervised and at home sometimes

· Good written and oral communication skills

· Interest or experience in gender and women’s rights

· Good coordination and organizational skills-

Please note: This internship is unpaid however a small stipend will be given. Any external travel related to the job will be covered.-Career development advice/ coaching will be provided; the opportunity to be mentored and coached by phenomenal women and men in different areas of interest; attend events at international organizations; subject to availability of funding. A recommendation letter noting all achievements and accomplishments.

4. Duration: 3-6 months initially with possible extension.

Kampala, Uganda( working at least 3 day a week in office)
