Description
Job Purpose
- To monitor and manage the performance of the passive infra using best business processes and practices to deliver uptime to all clients on the network.
- To drive improvement in the quality of service and ensure the network performs optimally in terms of design, operation, and service delivery.
- To analyse key indicators of performance and provide management with reactive and proactive intelligence.
- To provide daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly performance reports for management and collocating tenants capturing performance trends against the KPIs.
- To measure and manage the O&M, SMC contractors, and vendors on agreed deliverables.
- To ensure the correct management tools and operational processes and procedures are in place and optimized to enhance quality and performance.
Key Performance Areas
- Performance Management
- Evaluate the performance of each Operator on the network based on SLA.
- Evaluate the performance of each O&M Contractor on the network based on SLA.
- Manage the company’s compliance with all Operator signed SLAs
- Manage the O&M contractors’ compliance with each SLA with Ubuntu.
- Ensure that all technical support systems are in place and functional in order to correctly monitor the performance of the site assets.
- Provide strategic information needed for short, medium- and long-term decision-making to Operators, Contractors, and the company.
- Information Management
- Distribute High-level feedback to the company’s management regarding the Network (SLA breaches, non-compliance)
- Distribute High-level feedback to the company’s customers including (non-compliance, and network performance)
- Distribute High-level feedback to all Ubuntu Towers contractors for rapid intervention on (non-compliance, missed KPIs, and poor Network performances)
- Ensure all information required for Network reporting is gathered, accurate, analyzed, calculated, and reconciled.
- Prepare any daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, governance, annual, or any required ad hoc reports.
- Gather monthly, quarterly, and annual raw data required for ISO-GHG and any other data/information required for ad hoc reports in approved formats.
- Gather and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual required evidence (photos, videos, invoices, signoffs, etc) for all ISO data gathered.
- ISO Certification
- Maintain ISO SLAs set for the Quality of the Network by preserving plant and Assets & Integrity (Generators).
- Maintain ISO SLAs set for the Quality of the Network (Aircons)
- Maintain ISO SLAs set for the Quality of the Network (Rectifiers)
- Ensure that the company reduces waste and hazard generation, where possible recycle
- Demonstrate reduction in carbon emission & minimize diesel usage
- Ensure smooth ISO annual audits based on gathered data and signoffs done by the TUV Nord auditors.
- Business Processes and Energy Usage Tracking
- Ensure all Operations processes and procedures related to the business are effective and being followed.
- Identify high-energy sites and seek solutions and strategies for Opex reduction.
- Track generator, Battery, and grid usage to help in Opex reduction solutions or strategies.
- Identify and advise on possible areas of revenue pilferage.
- Ensure the NOC is up and running 24/7, executing correct processes for incidents, PM, CM, Site Access, Operator, and Contractor Day to day reconciliations efficiently.
- Identify new processes that can increase efficiency or edit existing ones to maximize efficiency.
- ISO Compliance and Liaison
- Ensure that operations comply with all Health and Safety policies to support Ubuntu's HSE Policy.
- Identify HSE risks during site inspections and immediately advise or escalate.
- Tools and test equipment are safely kept when not in use.
- All damages, breakages, or non-functional equipment are safely kept away or repaired.
- Enforce proper or responsible use of equipment issued.
- Internal: Maintain a good liaison network with stakeholders (i.e. Chief Executive Officer, ii. Operations Director, iii. All relevant UTUL sections and departments)
- External: Maintain a good liaison network with stakeholders (i.e. Security Contractors, ii. Clients, iii. Regulatory Agencies, iv. Law Enforcement, Security Department

Skills and Attributes
- EDUCATION: A BSC degree or HND in Electrical/ Telecom engineering/ Engineering/ Data Management
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3-5 years of Operational Management experience, management of O&M contractors
- KNOWLEDGE: Telecoms passive infrastructure, Telemetry systems, Performance Management, Project Management systems, ISO/ IFC, MS Projects, MS Office suite.
- Leadership, performance driven, analytical, task orientated, accurate and attention to detail.
